As one of two product designers on the team, I was involved in every stage of the design process for Conferencing’s Revamp, from initial conception and ideation to final handoff and market release.
I personally led the end-to-end design of multiple key features and took ownership of the design system’s creation and maintenance.

Overview
Agora is a global leader in real-time engagement, trusted by over 1,700 leading organizations across 200 countries fuelling 60 billion minutes of live voice and video every month.
Agora Conferencing serves as the foundational UI shipped with App Builder’s Customization SDKs and deployed web apps. It’s part of Agora’s no-code/low-code App Builder platform, which enables users to quickly design and launch custom real-time video and voice applications without needing extensive programming expertise.
It also acts as a sample app used in all our sales calls to onboard new customers as well as a tool for internal online meetings.
Business Need
Conferencing was starting to lag behind newer competitors and needed to become a more modern piece of software. Our sales team had lost multi-million revenue opportunities because the “look and feel” of our product was lacking compared to competitors.Customers were churning away due to lack of key features.
Goal
Rebuild agora conferencing with a design first approach and add new capabilities to increase product-led growth. The bottomline was to have more merchants paying for the product tracked by monthly recurring revenue (MRR).
Impact
Designed 8+ features that directly drove MRR growth of around 242% by influencing product, marketing, and customer support functions as a key member of the design team.

This enables users to blur their background or replace it with a solid color or image. It was a quick win for us to implement and was requested by multiple potential customers.
A powerful, feature-rich, custom-branded real-time digital whiteboard designed to simplify collaboration. This feature was essential for our online education and business collaboration use cases.
Enable live captions for audio and video calls with post-meeting transcripts. This improves accessibility for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing while also enhancing comprehension for non-native speakers or those in noisy environments.
The Initial chat version was limited to plain text, lacking key features that boost engagement—such as rich media support, message reactions, direct replies, etc. We transformed the experience by integrating all these essential features and much more.
Polls make video calls more interactive by boosting engagement and encouraging participation. They provide instant feedback, helping hosts gauge opinions or check understanding in real time. In educational settings, polls enhance learning and retention by reinforcing key concepts.
